Starting Wednesday, the Actors Fund will help members of the performing arts community book appointments at the new Broadway vaccination site. 

The site, which opened Monday at 20 Times Square, has reserved about 200 appointments a day for members of the performing arts community, which includes theater professionals, as well as those who work in film and television. The goal is to increase the number of reserved slots to more than 1,000 a day, if needed, according to the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. 

To schedule an appointment, the Actors Fund directed members of the performing arts community to call 917-281-5937 or email vaccines@actorsfund.org 

To be eligible, individuals must work, live or attend school in New York City. To prove affiliation with the performing arts community, individuals can show a pay stub, a letter from an employer, a union membership card or an employee ID card or badge, according to the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. 

“They are asking for proof of eligibility,” a spokesman for the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment said in a statement to Broadway News. “If someone thinks they might not have the exact paperwork needed, they should contact the Actor’s Fund and the Fund will help find a solution.”

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Lin-Manuel Miranda helped open the site Monday, but at the time it was unclear how members of the performing arts community could book appointments. De Blasio has promoted the site as a step to bring back Broadway in the fall.
