Voting for the Tony Awards will take place starting March 1, Tony Awards organizers said Friday.

The voting period, for the shows that opened during the shortened 2019-2020 Broadway season, will take place from March 1 to March 15. A date for the digital ceremony has yet to be announced, but will occur “in coordination with the re-opening of Broadway,” organizers said.

Broadway shows are currently closed through at least May 30, 2021, with many productions setting dates for the fall.

The ceremony was originally scheduled for June 2020, but then cancelled due to the pandemic. A digital ceremony was then planned for “late fall” 2021, but shifted later as Broadway reopening plans were pushed back.

Nominations for the Tony Awards were announced Oct. 15, 2020.  The Tony voters will be considering 18 productions from the 2020 season, with a cut-off date of Feb. 19, 2020. This excludes “West Side Story” and “Girl from the North Country.”
